CURC Social Media Policy

Managing Our Online Presence:

This policy has been developed to provide practical guidance to CURC members and club volunteers using CURC social media (Facebook, Tik Tok, Instagram, Strava, and all other social networking sites and forums), minimising potential risks, and allowing all parties to benefit from the use of social media.

Our online presence through our website or social media platforms enables us to promote our club to new runners, as well as providing positive reinforcement of the value of the club within the community. It is therefore important that the use of social media follows our CURC core values – See About Us – Chessington Unity Running Club

Collecting Images:

Individual and Group photos

Group photos are often taken at the start of each run or during the run which can be used on CURC social media.  Members that do not want to appear in social media, are asked to step out of the group while the photo is being taken and to make the run leader aware that they do not want to appear in social media posts.

Run leaders are requested to ask if any club member does not want to appear in photos or social media posts at the start of each club run.  Club members can remind others if they do not want to appear in a photo by putting two thumbs down if they see other members taking individual photos.

Videos:

Videos should not be taken during club runs or club events without prior permission of all club members on that run.  If any club member does not want to appear in a video as they are running, they should indicate this by putting two thumbs down.
